Well, I haven't exactly been the best blogger so far! Its been quite a while since I've updated our blog but I am determined to get back into it. I think I have finally had the chance to announce to most people that I am in fact 15 weeks pregnant! Brian and I found out right before he left for deployment that we are expecting. Our timing was pretty great in reality because Brian is set to return from the Philippines in November and I have a due date of January 4th, 2012. So he will be back in plenty of time for the baby. It is kind of sad that he doesn't get to be here for the majority of the pregnancy but its not exactly the fun part as so far I've just been feeling sick and always SO SO tired! But we are both really excited for November and of course January when the baby is set to arrive.
But because Brian has been deployed since May 2nd I made the decision to quit my job in San Diego working at Prudential (since I wasn't very happy there anymore) and decided to come spend the summer in Oregon with my mom. It was just rather lonely in San Diego and being pregnant I thought it would be wise to come spend some time with my mom and be in her good company. So far Oregon has been really nice and I'm glad I have come up here! Thankfully Kathy, Brian's mom is keeping an eye on our condo this summer while we are both away and I plan to go back to San Diego in October before Brian returns. Pregnancy has gone well so far! I have my days where I just don't feel well with stomach aches or head aches and pretty much on a day to day basis I am running on very low energy so I've been taking more naps than ever in my life! I keep justifying them knowing that soon once the baby is here I won't have the luxury to nap when ever I want so I'm just going with it and if I get tired....I sleep!
Brian is doing well over in the Philippines. Lately he has been staying really busy going on lots of trips to various islands throughout the country. I uploaded a couple photos that he has sent over! The country itself is really beautiful and on his base they have adopted various animals over the past couple months. Some have come and gone but I believe they still have one monkey and at one time had a python. Brian got to witness sea turtles laying their eggs on the beach one night during one of his trips. He has been gone about 2.5 months now so he is making his way through deployment number two. We Skype as often as possible and email daily if we can. So our communication has been really good!
Other than our pregnancy news there is not much else going on this summer! I have a few trips planned for later in the summer. My mom and I are going to go visit Crater Lake in early September because we've never been! Its the deepest lake in the Nation! I'll be sure to upload some photos from our trip. I'm also going to go out East in September to visit my dad in North Carolina for a few weeks so that will be lots of fun too. I would also like to make it to the Oregon Coast one of these weekends before I leave to go back to San Diego.
Brian and I will find out the sex of our baby this week so I will soon update the blog with that news! We're really excited to find out! I will keep updating on the summer's events and also Brian's deployment. Maybe eventually I will even post a baby bump photo. So far there is not much to show but I expect to start showing a lot more in the next few weeks. I hope everyone is having a great summer! Until next time....
